Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Bakersfield will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in California usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–3 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Bakersfield is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bakersfield follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Wow, this place definitely hits it out of the park. From the moment you walk up, Cafe Smitten has amazing curb appeal. The entrance looks small and almost makes you assume the coffee shop is going to be tiny, but once you step inside, the space just keeps going. There is plenty of indoor seating, along with a cute, quaint, and aesthetically appealing outdoor seating area with covering, live plants, comfortable seating, and really nice lighting. The atmosphere may be one of the best things about this place. They seem to have found the perfect balance between cute aesthetics and a genuinely comfortable vibe. There is good music playing in the background, but it's at just the right volumeβ€”enough to add to the atmosphere without being loud or intrusive. The person who took my order didn't seem particularly enthusiastic or happy to be there. It wasn't a terrible interaction, but the greeting and ordering experience didn't match the otherwise warm and inviting atmosphere of the coffee shop. I ordered a pour-over for here along with avocado toast. They give you a number and bring your items to your table as they're prepared. There was one incident that really bothered me. The first f

Searching for a great breakfast spot and loved the menu options. Ordered the egg & cheese bagel and the breakfast burrito. The bagel was good but on the basic side. The breakfast burrito was delicious though! Would love to come back and try the Moroccan eggs.

3/5 for the breakfast bagel and 3.5/5 for the nitro cold brew. The bagel and egg was stale. It didn’t have any taste, felt like I was chewing nothing. Presentation was good though. Maybe it was a bad batch but definitely didn’t make my Sunday morning any better. Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable.
